Top Shelf Tuesday:


One of these days, Top Shelf Tuesday will actually be on a Tuesday....until then, here is a late edition.

Today's latest edition will just give a recap (and no side comments) as a lot of the news today is not very discussion enducing.

Signings:

  • Vancouver Canucks resigned F Mason Raymond to a 1 year, $2.275 million extension

  • Montreal Canadiens signed F Lars Eller to a 2 year $2.65 million extension

  • Tampa Bay Lightning sign newly acquired G Anders Lindback to a 2 year, $3.6 million contract

  • Tampa also resigned F Teddy Purcell to a 3 year, $13.5 million extension

  • The Ottawa Senators have verbally agreed to a contract extension with tough guy Chris Neil worth 3 years, $5.75 million
     

  • Columbs Blue Jackets sign their new LW Nick Foligno to a 3 year, $9.25 million contract

  • The New York Rangers signed F Jeff Halpern to a 1 year, $700,000 contract

  • The St. Louis Blues also resigned F Jamie Langenbrunner to a 1 year deal.

Front Office Moves:
  • Niklas Lidstrom accepts role as a scout with the Detroit Red Wings (presumably based in Europe)

  • Larry Robinson becomes an assistant coach with the San Jose Sharks. He will focus on Penalty Kill and Defense.

Random News:
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs will try using newly acquired LW James Van Riemsdyk as a Center

  • The Minnesota Wild had a press conference for the introduction of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Parise will change from number 9 to number 11 while Suter will remain number 20. Both will serve as alternate captains.

  • Shea Weber is "reportedly" upset and in shock that Ryan Suter left Nashville and signed with Minnesota. Shocker.

  • Rick Nash has reportedly shortened his already short list of teams he would accept to down to six teams. None of the teams are Canadian (NYR, PIT, DET, BOS, SJ, PHI)
